Grinding Splints can help Prevent:
- Wearing down of tooth enamel
- Reduce grinding and clenching behaviours
- Prevent grinding related headaches
- Maintain the shape and appearance of your teeth
Grinding Analysis
Many people may have had a grinding habit in the past, but no longer grind. To evaluate grinding patterns, a trial splint is used.
After wearing the trial splint for some time, it is assessed and the need for a grinding splint (occlusal splint) can be determined.
Occlusal Splints
Occlusal splints are used to prevent tooth wear from uncontrolled night time grinding. Regular teeth grinding can lead to short worn teeth, tooth sensitivity, jaw joint pain and jaw disorders.
If you or someone you know are grinding their teeth organise an examination at Orchard Dental.
