Root Canal can save teeth destined for extraction

March 1, 2013

It’s a treatment that may have a bad reputation, but really shouldn’t…

Root-Canal-Given-a-Bad-Rap

Root Canal Therapy (RCT) is a treatment that many patients fear and in retrospect of conventional methods we can certainly see why. However, with the advancement of dental technology, at Orchard Dental we are able to conduct RCT more efficiently than ever.

At Orchard Dental we perform root canal therapy to save your tooth…

When the nerve of a tooth becomes infected and damaged, the body simply does not have the means to heal itself. Without RCT, the only solution would be to extract the tooth. RCT allows relief of pain and infection, and preserves your tooth.

RCT at Orchard Dental is virtually painless as we first numb the tooth to ensure there is no sensation. We then carefully remove the infected nerve tissue, disinfect the tooth canals and then fill the treated tooth. We perform RCT in stages with relief of pain soon after the first stage.

Having Trouble with Your Dental Fillings?

At Orchard Dental you do not have suffer tooth aches caused by fillings…

Having-Trouble-with-Your-Dental Fillings

Fillings are used to repair a tooth that has suffered decay, breakage or structural weakness. They usually last up to ten years if looked after correctly but occasionally, fillings can chip, break or fall out.

We use the best materials available to ensure the longevity of your fillings.

At Orchard Dental, we understand the need for strong and durable fillings. This is why we use GC Gaenial, Gradia and 3M Filtek Supreme – the best brands in the industry, to ensure your tooth remains strong, durable and uncompromised. We match the colour of your tooth to the range of shades available so that the filling is well disguised. The materials are cured by ultraviolet light which hardens them to maximum strength so you can enjoy your lunch or dinner straight after your treatment!

Although silver fillings are rarely used, we occasionally employ the use of silver (amalgam) fillings to suit the patient’s needs. We will assess your condition and recommend which filling material would provide you with the best results.

At Orchard Dental, you should expect durable, effective and virtually invisible fillings that help retain your tooth structure.
