Traditionally, if the nerve tissue (pulp) of a tooth became infected, the tooth would need to be extracted before this infection caused further issues. Root canal therapy has helped patients retain their teeth that have been damaged by infection by gently removing the infected nerve tissue.
Contrary to popular belief, (we’re all heard the horror stories) root canal therapy performed in our centre should not cause any more discomfort than that of a normal filling. We do this by precisely drilling into the crown of the tooth, cleaning the root canals of infected tissue, and re-enforcing your restored tooth with a crown.
